The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that happened near the corner of Cowan Street and Smith Street just before 02:30 a.m.
Deputies responded to a call of a person shot in a vehicle at the intersection of Cowan Street and Smith Street. Upon arrival deputies located 42-year-old Stephen Lee Brown, of Macon, who was unresponsive in a pickup truck. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. The next of kin has been notified by deputy Coroner Luanne Stone. Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators are still determining what lead up to the shooting.
