Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested 35-year-old Idris Oladipo Alaka in connection to the death of 27-year-old Brittany Wright.
It was reported that Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies were responding to an unrelated call on Courtland Avenue when a homeowner flagged down the deputies. Deputies entered the home and discovered 27-year-old Brittany Wright fatally wounded. Deputies detained Alaka on scene. Alaka was transported to the criminal investigation office to be interviewed. Alaka was later transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, and charged with murder, and aggravated assault. He is being held without bond.
According to the Coroner’s office the next of kin has been notified.

Death Investigation on Courtland Avenue
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that occurred inside of a home in the 1200 block of Courtland Avenue.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies were responding to an unrelated call on Courtland Avenue when a homeowner flagged down the deputies. Deputies entered the home and discovered a 27-year-old female victim fatally wounded. Deputies did detain a person of interest on scene for questioning. The circumstances behind the incident are under investigation. The name of the victim will be released once the next of kin has been notified.
This incident is in the early stages of the investigation. More information will be released once it becomes available.
