The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Fatal Traffic Collision, involving two vehicles, that occurred on Hawkinsville Road, near its intersection with Rex Elder Boulevard. The collision was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at around 5:28 p.m.
It was reported that a driver of a car that was traveling south on Hawkinsville Road, lost control. The car crossed over into the northbound lanes of travel. The car collided with a panel truck that was traveling north on Hawkinsville Road. The driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene, by Coroner Leon Jones.
The name of deceased will not be released until the next of kin has been notified.
The driver of the panel truck was treated by paramedics and released from medical care at the scene.
