The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was notified that the victim in the Carlisle Avenue aggravated assault incident on July 15, 2022, has passed away from his injuries.
The Bibb County Coroner’s Office stated that 17-year-old Tyreek Demontez Young, of Macon, was pronounced deceased at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon. The next of kin has been notified, per the Coroner’s Office.

Aggravated Assault Investigation on Carlisle Avenue
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Aggravated Assault incident that was reported to have occurred in the 1100 block of Carlisle Avenue just before 9:30 p.m.
Deputies responded to the 1100 block of Carlisle Avenue regarding a person shot. Upon arrival deputies found a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound in the roadway. The victim was transported to the Atrium Health and is listed in critical condition at this time. An 18-year-old male who was taken to the Atrium Health with a gunshot wound to the lower leg, who was with the 17-year-old, is listed in stable condition at this time. No one else was injured during the incident.
There is no information on the suspect currently.
