Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested a suspect in connection with the death of 16-year-old that occurred in the 2300 block of Mason Street on Monday night. The incident took place at around 11:00 p.m.

It was reported that a 16-year-old male was found unresponsive in a vacant lot. The 16-year-old male was later pronounced deceased by the Coroner’s Office. The juvenile victim was identified as Hakeem Flowers. (The next of kin has been notified according to Deputy Coroner Miley).

A female was reported to have been injured during this incident. She was transported to the Atrium hospital by ambulance. She was treated for her injuries and was later released.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office received a call that a male had arrived at the Atrium Health Navicent by personal vehicle. The male was reported to have been shot at the Mason Street location.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the male who arrived at the hospital by personal vehicle was involved with Flower’s death. Investigators identified that male as 29-year-old Kendrea Hubbard. Investigators had warrants issued for Hubbard’s arrest. Hubbard was taken into custody upon his release from the hospital.

Kendrea Hubbard was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for the charges of Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm during Commission of Certain Felonies. Hubbard does not have a bond.

Death Investigation on Mason Street

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened in the 2300 block of Mason Street just after 11:00 p.m.

Deputies responded to the 2300 block of Mason Street regarding a person shot. Upon arrival deputies found a 16-year-old male unresponsive at a vacant lot. He was pronounced deceased on the scene by Deputy Coroner Miley. It was reported that there had been a gathering in the vacant lot. During the gathering a dispute started and shots were fired by multiple people. A 30-year-old female and a 29-year-old male were also injured during the incident. Both the female and the 29-year-old male were taken to the Atrium Health and are listed in stable condition at this time. No one else was injured during the incident. The next of kin has not been notified at this time.
