Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested two suspects in connection with the Aggravated Assault incident that occurred on Thomaston Road at Lamar Road, Monday afternoon.

Investigators worked through the evening and identified 18-year-old Xzaydrian Ja’Won Lewis, and a 16-year-old male juvenile as two of the suspects that were involved in the incident.

Both Lewis and the juvenile were taken to the Investigations Division to be interviewed about the incident. After being interviewed, Lewis was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. The juvenile was taken to the Youth Detention Center. 

Lewis is currently being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for the charges of (2 counts) Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of or Attempt Certain Felonies. Lewis also has Probation Violation- State Court charge. 

The juvenile was charged with Aggravated Assault. The original release is attached below.

Aggravated Assault Incident on Thomaston Road at Lamar Road

The Bibb Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Aggravated Assault incident that occurred on Thomaston Road at Lamar Road at 2:43 p.m.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators were following a suspect believed to be in a dark gray in color Dodge Charger on Thomaston Road. When the investigators, who were in an unmarked investigations vehicle, activated their lights and sirens, an unknown subject began firing from inside the suspect’s vehicle at the investigators. The investigators took evasive actions and went off the roadway striking a light pole. The vehicle then fled the scene down Lamar Road towards Zebulon Road. 

The two investigators sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Atrium Health for treatment, where they are listed in stable condition. Neither investigator sustained any gunshot wounds. No one else was injured during the incident. There is no further information on the suspect. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
