The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting incident that happened in the parking lot of Academy Sports, located at 1689 Eisenhower Parkway. The Macon-Bibb 911 Center was notified around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
It was reported that a 15-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of Southwest High School. The male was transported to Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance, where he later died of his injuries.
The name of the victim will not be released until the next of kin has been notified.
Investigators are currently investigating what led up to the shooting. More information will be given once it becomes available.
