Members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested an individual in connection to the pedestrian fatality investigation of 66-year-old Irene Stubbs.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators identified the suspect in this incident as 27-year-old Nathan Charles Epps, of Macon, and had warrants issued for his arrest. Warrants were served on Epps earlier today, and he was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Epps is currently being held without bond for the charge of homicide by vehicle-leaving the scene and hit and run. The original release is attached below.

Pedestrian Fatality on Old Clinton Road

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pedestrian traffic incident that occurred in the 2000 block of Old Clinton Road, just before 9:30 p.m. A passersby called in a report of a female laying in the roadway unresponsive.

When deputies arrived, they found 66-year-old Irene Stubbs, of Macon, had been struck by a vehicle. Stubbs was pronounced deceased on the scene by Bibb County Coroner’s Office personnel. The next of kin has been notified by the Bibb County Coroner’s Office personnel. The vehicle that struck Stubbs left the scene before deputies arrived. No witnesses have come forward at this time, and there is no information on the vehicle involved in the incident.
