The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting incident that was reported to the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at 11:34 a.m. at the Woods on Napier Apartments, located at 4017 Napier Avenue.
It was reported that a neighbor reported a person down in an apartment. As deputies responded, they found 21-year-old Deuntay Lashavi Hicks, with a fatal gunshot wound.
According to Coroner Leon Jones, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the next of kin has been notified.
The circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation. Additional information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
