The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting incident that was reported to the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at 6:58 p.m., at the Shell Gas Station located at 100 South Heron Street near Eisenhower Parkway.
It was reported that 36-year-old Jacovian Jatarious Tratencio Maxwell of Macon, was fatally wounded by gunfire near the gas pumps.
Paramedics arrived at the incident location and transported Maxwell to Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance where he later died of his injuries.
According to Coroner Leon Jones, the next of kin has been notified.

The name of the victim will not be released until the next of kin have been notified.
