Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators along with members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested an individual in connection to the homicide investigation of Greg Lamar Watkins Jr.
Bibb Sheriff’s investigators identified the suspect as 21-year-old Christian Desmond Williams of Macon and had warrants issued for his arrest. Williams was taken into custody at the Green Meadows Apartment complex without incident. Williams was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Annex for questioning and then taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Williams is currently being held without bond for the charge of Murder and four counts of Aggravated Assault..

Homicide Investigation at the Chevron on Emery Highway
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Homicide that occurred at the Chevron located at 584 Emery Highway just before 10:00 p.m. It was reported that 27-year-old Greg Lamar Watkins Jr., was fatally wounded by an individual as he was standing inside of the convenience store. No one else was reported injured during this incident.
Watkins was transported to the Coliseum Medical Center by a personal vehicle. He was pronounced deceased by the Bibb County Coroner. The next of kin has been notified.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators are seeking an individual described as a black male, wearing a white t-shirt, camouflage pants, and white shoes. Pictures of the individual are attached to this media release.
