The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and Macon-Bibb Fire Department responded to a house fire located at 8925 Thomaston Road just before 10:00 p.m.
It was reported that the house fire was called in by a passerby. When Macon-Bibb County Fire Department arrived they were able to extinguish the fire. Firefighters inspected the home and discovered a deceased female inside the residence.
The female was later identified as, 84-year-old Mary Frances Stenson, the homeowner. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. An autopsy will be performed to confirm the cause of death.
