The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that took place at 572 Concord Street. The incident took place at around 6:23 p.m.
This incident is in its early stages of the investigation. Investigators are currently collecting evidence and speaking with possible witnesses to determine the events that led to the shooting. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.
The victim, 45-year-old Michael LaFayett Whitaker Jr., of Macon, was transported to the hospital by ambulance, where he later died. According to Coroner Leon Jones, the next of kin has been notified.
