The Bibb Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Hit and Run, Aggravated Assault incident that happened at 4290 Dellwood Drive, Exxon Gas, at 7:11 p.m.
It was reported that a white male in a red Dodge Ram truck drove into the store multiple times and then left the scene. When deputies arrived, they spoke to the clerk and were informed that the suspect was acting extremely irate and yelling in the parking lot, before driving his vehicle into the store.
Deputies were informed shortly after that the suspect wrecked on Thomaston Road near the Bibb/Monroe County line. Deputies responded and found the suspect in the vehicle stuck in the ditch.
Deputies detained 33-year-old John Andrew Gillespie, of Toomsboro, Ga. He was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Damage to Property and Hit and Run.
