The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial armed robbery that took place at 8:27 p.m. on September 24, 2019, at the Dollar Tree, located at 1517 Eisenhower Parkway.   

It was reported that two teenage black males entered the store. The teens were recognized by a clerk as having shoplifted in the past. When the clerk approached the teens to make them leave, one of the teens brandished a firearm. The teenagers then took bags of chips, candy and drinks before fleeing on foot behind the store.

A Dollar Tree employee was walking to work and was confronted behind the store by the teens. The teenager with the gun pointed it at the employee and then ran off.

No one was injured during the incident. A picture of the teenagers is attached to the release.

On September 25, 2019 at 11:35 a.m. Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested one of the suspects, 18-year-old Dailan Makkari Alston, of Macon. Alston was taken to the Investigations Office to speak with deputies.

Alston was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Aggravated Assault and Armed Robbery. He is being held without bond at this time.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office still needs assistance identifying the second suspect in the Robbery. Alston is the suspect on the left in the picture.
