The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single vehicle traffic accident with a serious injury that occurred on Eisenhower Parkway/U.S. 80, near its intersection with Ivey Drive. The accident took place at around 4:30p.m.
It was reported that a Chevrolet truck, driven by 55-year-old James Snellgrove, from Knoxville, was traveling east on Eisenhower Parkway/U.S. 80. Snellgrove lost control of the vehicle as it began to hydroplane. The vehicle flipped several times and the passenger was ejected from the vehicle.
The passenger, 57-year-old Timothy Gordon of Macon was transported to the Navicent where he is listed to be in critical condition. According to Coroner Leon Jones, Gordon was pronounced dead at the hospital Tuesday evening. The next of kin has been notified.
This accident is under investigation.
