It was reported that at 12:08 a.m. 46-year-old Stacey Harris, of Macon, was pronounced deceased by Coroner Leon Jones at the Navicent Health Medical Center. He died due to injuries from the accident. The accident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time. Next of kin has been notified.

Traffic Accident with Injuries In West Macon

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic accident with injuries that occurred on Mercer University Drive at the Macon Mall Entrance at 7:38 p.m.

It was reported that a Lexus RX350, driven by 68-year-old Leon Ward Jr. of Macon, was traveling west on Mercer University Drive making a left turn into the Macon Mall. A Kawasaki ZX6R, driven by 46-year-old Stacey Harris of Macon, was traveling east on Mercer University Drive when it collided with the Lexus. 

Both drivers were taken to the Navicent Health Medical Center for treatment. Harris is listed in critical condition at this time. Ward is listed in stable condition at this time.

No one has been charged at this time. The traffic accident is under investigation. Anyone with information in reference to this accident is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
