The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident. It was reported that two men were walking on the train tracks when they were struck by the train. The incident occurred on the Rail Road tracks near Arkwright Road and Arkwright Drive at 12:31 p.m. Saturday. The incident was called in by Norfolk Southern Railroad Company. When deputies arrived they discovered the bodies of two men later identified as Cory and Brian Cranmore of Macon, near the railroad tracks that had been struck by the train.
Both men were pronounced dead on scene by Coroner Leon Jones. The names of the men will be released once next of kin is notified.
