The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a wooded area between Majestic Lane and Hitchcock Road at 10:00 a.m.
It was reported that a male was walking on a trail in the woods that runs between Kings Park Subdivision and Hitchcock Road. He discovered an unresponsive female and male laying on the trail.
The male called the Sheriff’s Office and deputies responded to the area. Deputies located a 31-year-old male later identified as Sidney Martell Bishop and a 19-year-old female identified as Diamond Purvis with gunshot wounds. It appears at this time that the male victim shot the female once and then shot himself in a murder/suicide. The next of kin has been notified by the Coroner’s office.
