The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that was reported to the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at around 6:00 a.m., Saturday.

It was reported that two females were driven to the Navicent Hospital Emergency Room, by private vehicle. One of the females was pronounced deceased at the hospital, the second victim is still being treated.

The first victim, 24-year-old Raiyawna Nibrea Moser-Powell of Byron, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. According to Coroner Leon Jones, the next of kin has been notified.

The second victim, 26-year-old Gabrielle Russell of Macon. Russell is still at the hospital and remains in stable condition.  

This investigation is ongoing. The circumstances surrounding the incident and the location of where the shooting occurred are still under investigation. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
