Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators made an arrest during the course of the investigation into the death of 1 year old De’Yuntis Pounds. The incident took place Wednesday morning at an apartment, located at 3401 Houston Avenue.
Investigators arrested the mother, 21 year old Carla Rochelle Pounds for the charge of Cruelty to Children- first degree.
This investigation is ongoing. An autopsy will take place on Thursday in an effort to determine the cause of death of the child.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Infant Death
Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators are investigating the death of an infant that occurred earlier today. Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence located at 3401 Houston Avenue at around 10:20 AM, in reference to a child reported to be unresponsive.
It was reported that a 1 year old male infant was found unresponsive by the mother. Emergency medical services arrived at the residence and the child was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed.
