The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested a third suspect ,Damarkis Hammonds, age 19, in connection to the October homicide that occurred at the corner of Warpath Road and Manson Road, just after 11:00p.m. Deputies responded to this intersection in reference to a person being shot.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force took Hammonds into custody on a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office warrant. He was located at a residence in the 700 block of Tidewater Circle.  He was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Annex to be interviewed.

Upon arrival they found a black male lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.  The male was transported to the Navicent Health Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead by the Coroner’s office. It was determined that the victim identified as 16 year old Kendrick Davis was walking down Warpath road when the incident occurred. It was reported that a dark in color vehicle drove by and fired several shots at Davis. The suspect had already fled the scene before Deputies arrived. No one else was injured during the incident.

On October 31, 2018, 16 year old Troy Jackson and his cousin, 18 year old Jamon Jackson were charged in connection to this investigation. Hammonds is currently being held in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, without bond, for the charge of Murder.
