Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators have additionally charged 28-year-old Tevin Pleas with involuntary manslaughter after the death of 30-year-old Westley Faulks.  Pleas has been transported back to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and booked on charges. Pleas does not have a bond at this time.

Accidental Shooting Investigation

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of an accidental shooting that took place around 7:38 p.m., Wednesday.

According to witness statements, 30-year-old Westley Faulks and his friend, 28-year-old Tevin Pleas were at Hidden Lake Apartments located at 180 Hidden Lake Drive, when the incident occurred. It was reported that  Faulks and Pleas were showing each other their new firearms, when Pleas thought he had cleared his weapon to show Faulks. While showing the gun it discharged striking Faulks in the face. Faulks was transported by ambulance to Navicent  hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Pleas was transported to investigations to be interviewed. After the interview Pleas was arrested and charged with Reckless Conduct. He posted bond at $650.00 at 11:33 p.m. Wednesday night.

Faulks was later pronounced dead at the hospital at 1:20 a.m. At this time more charges may be pending. More information will be released once it becomes available.
