The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single vehicle traffic accident that occurred on I-75 southbound at the Eisenhower Parkway Exit ramp, just before 5:00 p.m. After further investigation it was discovered that the  female  occupant in the vehicle was not the driver of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle  identified as 25-year-old Torrence Lockhart, of Oglethorpe Georgia, lost control of the vehicle and went off the road into the woods. The vehicle then burst into flames.

Several  passerby’s helped get Lockhart and passenger 29-year-old Andrea Simmons, also of Oglethorpe Georgia, out of the vehicle. Simmons was transported to the Navicent hospital and  is listed in stable condition. Lockhart was transported by helicopter to Grady hospital in Atlanta and is listed in critical condition.

This accident is still under investigation. Anyone with information in reference to this accident is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
