Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies answered a call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 2000 block of Emery Highway just after 10:15p.m Saturday night. It was reported that a 2004 Nissan Maxima, driven by 17 year old Dezmond Talton of Macon, was traveling on Emery Highway. Talton did not see the pedestrian, crossing the roadway and struck him.
The pedestrian was pinned under the vehicle and pronounced dead on scene by Coroner Leon Jones. The name of the pedestrian will be released once next of kin is notified.
The accident is currently being investigated and no charges have been made at this time. Anyone with information about this accident is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
