The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a motor vehicle collision with injuries which happened on Burton Avenue just south of the Winifred Way intersection at 3:55 p.m.

Witnesses reported a 2003 Nissan Altima was traveling north on Burton Ave. The driver of the Nissan Altima veered into the opposite lane of oncoming traffic and collided with a 2016 Dodge Ram 3500 travelling south on the two-lane road. The Dodge Ram was equipped with a trailer hitch, hauling construction equipment. The Nissan Altima was occupied by the driver, male 28-years-old, a female passenger 26-years-old, and two small children who were rear passengers, male and female. The driver and front passenger sustained severe injuries and were transported to Atrium Navicent Healthcare for medical treatment. The children were not reported injured. The Dodge Ram was occupied by the driver, a 26-year-old male and male passenger who is 20-years-old. Both occupants were unharmed.

The driver of the Nissan Altima is listed in critical condition, the female passengers is in stable condition.
