The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single vehicle traffic accident with serious injuries that occurred on Hopewell Road, between Midway Road and McCallum Place. The accident occurred at around 6:32p.m. Wednesday night.
According to witnesses, a red in color, 2016 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling north on Hopewell Road. The driver began to lose control of the vehicle as it passed the curve, near Midway Road. The vehicle went off of the roadway and hit a concrete culvert. The vehicle caught on fire during the accident. Several people who were at the scene pulled the driver from the burning vehicle.
The driver, 70 year old Clifton L. Brown of Musella was transported to the Navicent Health Center. He is currently listed to be in critical, but stable condition. No one else was injured during this incident.
This traffic accident is under investigation.
