Just before 11:00 p.m. on June 7, 2019, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies witnessed a maroon Mercedes Benz ML430 speeding on Riverside Drive near College Street. When deputies tried to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, the driver turned onto Madison Street and sped off.

After a short case the driver lost control of his vehicle when he crossed over Monroe Street from Jefferson Street onto First Avenue. The vehicle went off the roadway and rolled multiple times. The occupants of the vehicle were ejected from the car.

Georgia State Patrol was called into work the accident. No Bibb County Sheriff’s Office vehicles were involved in the accident.

The occupants of the vehicle were taken to the Navicent Health Medical Center. The occupants were 17-year-old Semaj Martin, and two 15-year-old juvenile males. Martin is listed in critical but stable condition at this time. One of the 15-year-olds is listed in critical condition at this time. The second 15-year-old is listed in stable condition at this time.

Charges are pending the outcome of the accident investigation.
