The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred at around 12:26a.m., Saturday morning. It was reported that a 15 year old juvenile was walking down Walnut Street, near Forest Avenue, when a white Toyota Camry, with four occupants, pulled up to the juvenile’s location. The two occupants, who were seated in the back of the vehicle got out and demanded money from the juvenile. When the juvenile did not comply, he was shot several times. The juvenile pulled out a gun and exchanged gunfire with the suspects, striking them several times.

The juvenile ran down a wooded path, near Ruby Street, and then to a residence that was located in the 2000 block of Roosevelt Street. The two suspects got back into the Toyota Camry and then fled the scene.

The suspects told investigators that they were stopped by a Georgia State Patrol Trooper, while in route to the hospital. The suspects did not reveal to the trooper that there were two gunshot victims sitting in the back seat. After receiving a speeding citation, the suspects continued on to the Navicent Health Center.

The juvenile was later transported to the Navicent by ambulance.

Bibb Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Navicent Health and took two of the suspects that were in the front seats of the Toyota Camry into custody. The two injured suspects were taken into the emergency room to receive treatment for their injuries.

At around 03:19 a.m., one of the suspects, an 18 year old male, was pronounced dead by Coroner Leon Jones. The name of that suspect will not be released until the next of kin has been notified.

A second suspect involved in this incident, 18 year old Antonio Deshon Woodard of Macon, is still being treated for his injuries, but is charged with Armed Robbery and Murder. He is currently listed critical, but stable.

The front seat occupants of the Toyota Camry were taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex. The driver of the vehicle, 19 year old Darius Artellis Lowder of Lizella and his cousin, 19 year old Ricky Bernard Lowder Jr. of Macon, are both charged with Armed Robbery and Murder.

Darius Lowder, Ricky Lowder, and Antonio Woodard are all three charged in the armed robbery attempt of the juvenile and the murder of the 19 year old who was with them during the armed robbery attempt.

The juvenile is being treated at the Navicent Health Center and is listed to be in stable condition. The juvenile’s name is being withheld at this time, pending the ongoing investigation.  Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
