On November 30, 2019, at 11:33 p.m., Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies arrested a Macon man for aggressive driving in downtown.

Deputies were working part-time at the Crazy Bull parking lot when they witnessed a blue Ford F-150 pass by, heard a loud screeching noise and saw smoke coming from the rear tires. Deputies then witnessed the vehicle do a donut (burnout) at the intersection of Second Street and Cherry Street. There were pedestrians in the area that had to run to get out of the way.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, 34-year-old Omar Torres, of Macon. It was discovered that Torres was driving while his license was suspended. While deputies were talking to Torres, he informed them that, “I was trying to impress some girls walking in the intersection.”

Torres was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Reckless Driving and Driving While Unlicensed. He was released on a $1,950.00 bond on December 1, 2019.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
