Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies arrested a Peachtree Corners Ga. man with a stolen gun at 04:45 hrs this morning. Deputies were doing speed control on I-75 near Hartley Bridge Road when they witnessed a silver Ford Fusion going eighty-nine miles-per-hour.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. They made contact with the driver of the car, 35-year-old Christopher Jermaine Magee. While talking to Magee deputies saw a pistol in the center console of the car. Magee began acting nervous and could not answer direct questions.
Deputies used K-9 Nala to do a free air search around the car. K-9 Nala did alert to the driver’s door and front passenger door. While checking the car deputies found the residue of marijuana in the car.
Deputies checked the firearm and it was discovered that the gun was reported stolen out of Port Saint Lucie Police Department of Florida in 2017. Attached is a photo of the gun.
Magee was arrested and taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property Felony. He is being held on a $4,050.00 bond at this time. He was issued a warning citation for the speeding.
