On October 18, 2019, at 11:15 p.m. Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were patrolling the area of Eisenhower Parkway and Bloomfield Road when they spotted a Toyota Corolla with a brake light out.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, 34-year-old Jason Travoris Thomas, of Macon. While talking to Thomas it was discovered that he had a suspended driver’s license. While deputies were writing the citation to Thomas, K-9 Nala was doing a free-air search of the vehicle and alerted.

Deputies searched the vehicle and both Thomas and his passenger 52-year-old, Wesley Jerome Nelson, of Eatonton. Deputies located a small bag of Methamphetamine in the pants pocket of Nelson.

Nelson was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Possession of Schedule II Drugs. He was released on a $5,700.00 bond on October 21, 2019.
