On January 7, 2020, at 5:00 p.m., Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Macon man for multiple Entering Autos that happened at the Goodwill Store, located at 5171 Eisenhower Parkway and for a Theft that happened at 665 Poplar Street, The Black Smith Shop.

Deputies received information from a CrimeStoppers tip that 31-year-old John Thomas Ashley, of Macon, was in the area of Riverside Drive and Pierce Avenue. When deputies arrived, they spotted Ashley, who took off running, but was detained after a short foot chase.

On October 24, 2019, at 8:13 p.m., deputies responded to the Black Smith Shop in regards to a camera theft. Deputies determined Ashley picked up the camera, when the photographer set it down to take pictures with another camera.  Ashley then ran away with the stolen camera.

On December 10th and 11th, of 2019 and January 3, 2020, deputies responded to 5171 Eisenhower Parkway in regards to a suspect cutting holes in the fence, entering multiple vehicles, and removing items.

Ashley was taken to the Bibb County jail and charged with 14 counts of Entering Auto, and three counts of Criminal Trespass. He also had a warrant for Violation of Probation for an unrelated charge.  A charge of Theft by Taking Felony was also filed on January 10, 2020.  Ashley is being held without bond at this time.
