Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies arrested a man for drug and counterfeit money possession just after 01:00a.m.
A deputy witnessed a Lincoln Town Car speeding on Williamson Road near McEvoy Drive. When the deputy first checked the vehicle it came back as stolen out of Bibb County. The Deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and when the car stopped the driver got out and ran on foot.

Deputies were able to capture the suspect after a short foot chase where deputies had to Tase him. The driver was identified as 29 year-old Travoris Montanez Jackson, of Macon. It was determined that the Lincoln Town Car was not stolen, it had been reported stolen but was recovered and the owner never notified law enforcement.

Deputies located a pistol, marijuana and a counterfeit one hundred dollar bill in the vehicle.

Jackson was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Possession of Marijuana Less than an Ounce, Criminal Use of Altered Article (counterfeit money) and Obstruction of Peace Officer. Jackson had warrants for Financial Identity Fraud and Financial Transaction Card Fraud on an unrelated case. He is being held on a $17,350.00 bond at this time.
