On July 29, 2019, The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address in the 1900 block of Thomas Drive in regards to an aggravated assault, just after 08:30 p.m.

It was reported that 19-year-old Lorenzo Davis was in his mother’s yard when 17-year-old Camerone Lane Cherry approached him and they began to argue. When Davis’ mother told Cherry to leave, he pulled a gun and fired multiple shots before fleeing in a Honda Accord.

When deputies arrived, the next-door neighbor notified them that some of the bullets fired by Cherry struck their house. No one was injured during the incident. The case was turned over to investigators.

Investigators met Cherry at their office and it was determined through witness statements that Cherry did fire multiple shots. He was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault. Cherry is being held without bond at this time.
