Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies arrested a Valdosta man for possession of a stolen firearm and marijuana. Just before 04:00 a.m., this morning deputies were patrolling I-475 south near Hartley Bridge Road when they witnessed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a black Saturn Vue, they made contact with the driver 21-year-old Jonathan Keion Harris. While talking to Harris deputies could smell a strong odor of Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Harris was checked for contraband and deputies found ten grams of Marijuana on his person.

When checking the vehicle deputies located a Hi-Point pistol. When deputies checked the pistol it was determined that it had been reported stolen out of Valdosta Georgia in 2017. A picture of the firearm is attached.

Harris was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Marijuana Less Than an Ounce. He is being held on a $5,480.00 bond at this time.
