The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single vehicle traffic accident that occurred at around 9:56 a.m. Sunday. It was reported that a 2017 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 18-year-old Alyssa Jackson, from Warner Robins, was traveling on I-16 west, headed towards  I-75 south. Jackson’s vehicle left the roadway and hit a concrete guardrail. The vehicle went airborne and then down an embankment. The vehicle landed under the bridge, next to the railroad tracks. During the accident, the vehicle caught on fire.

Mrs. Jackson was extricated from the vehicle and the fire was extinguished.  Jackson was transported to the Navicent and is listed in critical condition. This accident is under investigation.
