Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators along with members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a second individual in connection to the November 28, 2020 homicide of Raiyawna Nibrea Moser-Powell of Byron.

Bibb Sheriff’s Office investigators identified the second suspect as 46-year-old Michael Lamont Wagner of Warner Robins and had warrants issued for his arrest. Wagner was taken into custody, near the 400 block of Joe Tamplin Blvd, without incident. 

Wagner was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Annex for questioning and then taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Wagner is currently being held, without bond, for the charge of Murder.

Arrest Made in Homicide Investigation

MEDIA RELEASE: Arrest Made in Homicide Investigation

 Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators along with members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a Macon man in connection to the November 28, 2020 Homicide of 24-year-old Raiyawna Nibrea Moser-Powell of Byron.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators were able to identify 33-year-old Johnny Jaramond Jackson, of Macon, as the suspect in the 2020 homicide of Raiyawna Nibrea Moser-Powell.  Jackson was taken into custody at his residence in the 4300 block of Napier Avenue at approximately 6:00 p.m. today without incident.

Jackson was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigations Office for questioning. He was later transported to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Murder. He is being held without bond at this time.

Homicide Investigation

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that was reported to the Macon-Bibb 911 Center around 6:00 a.m. Saturday.

It was reported that two females were driven to the Navicent Hospital Emergency Room, by private vehicle. One of the females was pronounced deceased at the hospital, the second victim is still undergoing treatment.

The first victim,  24-year-old Raiyawna Nibrea Moser-Powell of Byron, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. According to Coroner Leon Jones, the next of kin has been notified. 

The second victim is, 26-year-old Gabrielle Russell of Macon. Russell is still at the hospital and remains in stable condition.  

This investigation is ongoing. The circumstances surrounding the incident and the location of where the shooting occurred are still under investigation. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
