Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators and members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force served arrest warrants on 22-year-old Damion Jarrod Tuff, in connection to the murder and aggravated assault incident that occurred November 27, 2020.

Investigators received a Crimestoppers tip in reference to his location. Tuff was taken into custody without incident at a residence in the 4400 block of Chambers Road. Tuff was transported to the Criminal Investigations Office to be interviewed by investigators. After the interview he was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, where he is being held without bond for the charges of Murder and four counts of Aggravated Assault.

Aggravated Assault on Cherry Street

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested 29-year-old Durand Marcel Faulk in connection to the aggravated assault incident resulting in one person dead, that occurred on November 27, 2020. It was reported that Faulk was involved in an altercation that occurred at The Thirsty Turtle resulting in him being cut in the face.

During this altercation it was reported that Faulk retrieved a gun and fired into the crowd. Faulk was interviewed and then transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and charged with murder and four counts of aggravated assault. This is an ongoing investigation. Investigators are continuing to speak with witnesses in an attempt to gather more information in reference to the events surrounding this incident. No further information in this case will be released until this investigation is concluded.

Aggravated Assault on Cherry Street

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call of shots fired outside 425 Cherry Street, The Thirsty Turtle just before 2:47 a.m. Friday.

It was reported that there was an altercation that occurred at The Thirsty Turtle resulting in several people shot. Once on scene deputies were advised that there was also a report of two males cut and this also occurred at The Thirsty Turtle. It was reported that someone drove down Cherry Street and begin firing at the people standing outside of The Thirsty Turtle and continued firing at people at the intersection of Cherry and Third Street. During the incident, a total of six people were shot, four females and two males. Three victims suffering from gunshot wounds were transported to the Navicent Health Center from the scene by ambulance. The other five victims, three suffering from gunshot wounds and two males suffering from stab wounds were taken to the Navicent Health Center by personal vehicles.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation. At the time of this release, one female from the incident later identified as 22-year-old Jhacaya Mann, of Macon was pronounced dead at the hospital. One female later identified as 30-year-old Briana Braddy, of Macon, is currently out of surgery and listed to be in critical condition.

The other victims related to this incident; gunshot victims, non-life threatening injuries: 21-year-old Rysheena Moore, of Macon, 40-year-old Antonio Smith, of Macon, 31-year-old Takeshi High, of Pooler Ga., 26-year-old Justin Miller, of Byron Ga., are listed to be in stable condition.

Stab wound victims, non-life-threatening injuries: 24-year-old Brandon Johnson, of Macon, 29-year-old Durand Faulk, of Macon, are listed to be in stable condition. Those victims transported by ambulance were Mann, Miller and High. Currently there is no description of the suspect at this time.
