The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a threat at a local school, at around 8:00a.m. Friday morning. It was reported that the Mount de Sales Academy conducts their morning announcements on a private “YouTube” channel. During the morning announcements, an unknown person posted a comment that someone was going to shoot the school.

The school staff immediately notified law enforcement and evacuated students from the school. Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies, Investigators, S.W.A.T. team members, K-9 Unit and other law enforcement responded to the school.

The SWAT team, along with Bibb Sheriff’s  K-9 units swept the school. Once the school was deemed safe, the students were cleared and allowed back into the school. The school’s campus was reopened at around 11:15a.m.   No one was injured during this incident.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators, with the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation are continuing to investigate this incident.
