The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the suspect that committed the business armed robbery at Reliance Food Mart, located at 3609 Pio Nono Avenue, on Wednesday morning just before 9:30 a.m. It was originally reported by the store employee that the suspect was armed with a short barreled long gun. It was discovered through the video surveillance of the store that the weapon was a handgun.

It was reported that the black male suspect entered the store and went to the restrooms. He left the store, then returned a short time later and walked over to the ATM as if to use it. The store employee told the suspect it was out of order. The suspect walked over to the front enclosure where the store employee was behind the counter. The suspect pulled the door to the enclosed area and got into a struggle with the employee. During the incident the suspect displayed a handgun. The suspect grabbed a bag containing an undisclosed amount of money and fled the store on foot. No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a tall and slender. He was wearing blue pants, possibly pajama type pants, a white t-shirt and blue hoodie jacket. Pictures of the suspect from the store’s video surveillance camera are attached.
