The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pedestrian involved accident that took place in the 2400 block of Pio Nono Avenue.
The accident occurred at 9:45 p.m. According to witness statements, a female was traveling south on Pio Nono Avenue. The female stated that she suddenly saw the male in the roadway and attempted to avoid colliding with the male, but was unsuccessful. The male pedestrian, 65-year-old Richard Smith from Macon, was transported to the Navicent by ambulance. Smith is currently listed to be in critical, but stable condition.The female driver was not injured during the accident. No charges have been filed against driver.
