On August 2, 2019, just after 6:30 p.m., Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were patrolling the area of Houston Avenue when they witnessed a Honda Civic fail to stop at a stop sign.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the Honda and made contact with the driver, Mr. Welker. While talking to Welker he appeared to be nervous and shaking. When deputies asked him if there were any drugs in the car, or if any of the other occupants had any drugs, he froze and stopped talking. Deputies deployed K9-Nala and did a free-air search of the vehicle. K-9 Deputy Nala indicated on the rear driver side seat of the vehicle. An interior search of the car located Methamphetamine and Marijuana in a backpack, in the rear seat. The bag belonged to 43-year-old Tracy Ann Knight of Macon.

Knight was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana Less Than an Ounce and Possession of Drug Related Objects. She is being held on an $8,450.00 bond at this time.

Mr. Welker was issued a citation and allowed to leave.
