Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies arrest a male individual for drug trafficking at the Dannenburg Lofts, located at 476 Third Street.

At around 1:35 p.m., on Friday, patrol deputies responded to a possible fight call at the Dannenburg Lofts. When deputies arrived at the Lofts, a maintenance manager stated that two men were fighting and one of men made entry into the other man’s loft, by kicking in the door. The patrol deputies made contact with the tenant whose door had been kicked in. The deputy asked to check the loft to make sure that the other male was not at the scene and that no one was injured inside of the of the loft.

While checking the apartment, the deputy smelled a strong odor of marijuana and noticed two large, clear bags of marijuana in one of the rooms. The tenant immediately attempted to conceal the bags by covering them with a tote. The deputy then contacted members of the Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit. Deputies then obtained a warrant to search the rest of loft and located over seventy large bags of suspected marijuana, several tote boxes of vape pens, and several mason jars, containing a dark brown liquid. These items will be tested to determine their specific contents.

Patrol deputies arrested 33-year-old Jesse James Elliott and charged him with Possession, Purchase, Manufacture, Distribution, or Sale of Marijuana, Trafficking in Cocaine, Illegal Drugs, Marijuana, or Methamphetamine, and Possession of Schedule I or II Controlled Substance with the Intent to Distribute. Elliott is being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, without bond.
