A joint investigation between the Bibb County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Unit and U.S Marshal Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force resulted in drug arrests on Thursday afternoon at 3104 Kevin Dr. Information was received from a Crime Stoppers tip that there was a wanted fugitive, Vanshaun Stephens inside the residence. Stephens was found inside the residence and was taken into custody. During the investigation it was determined that there was drug activity occurring at the residence.

Investigators with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Unit obtained and served a search warrant on the house on Thursday. Investigators seized ecstasy, 11.80 ounces of marijuana, along with packaging materials, weighing material and a stolen AK47. During the investigation and joint operation, three arrests were made.

The following people were arrested and charged;

Vanshaun Stephens – 27 YOA – Charged with Possession of Schedule 1 and Marijuana with Intent to Distribute. Stephens had also had (5) warrants for Possession of Firearm by a convicted felon, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute, Leaving the scene of an accident ,failure to maintain lane, and driving with suspended license. Stephens’s bond was set at $41,710.00. He remains currently in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Ulysees Sams – 36 YOA – Charged with Possession  of Schedule 1 and Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Theft By receiving stolen property, Possession of Firearm by a convicted felon and  Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.  Sams bond was set at $19,650.00. He remains currently in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Melvin Curry Jr– 33 YOA – Charged with Purchase of Marijuana with intent. Curry’s bond was set at $35,100.00. He remains currently in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
