The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that took place in the 1100 block of Sunnydale Drive. It was reported that Derrick Collins, age 32, from Macon, was sweeping the back porch of 1113 Sunnydale Drive, when he was approached by two black males.
The suspects demanded money from Collins. He pulled his gun in an attempt to ward off the two men. Collins accidently shot himself in the left forearm and he was also shot in the chest area.
Collins was transported to the Navicent Health Center where he is listed to be in stable condition. No one else was injured during this incident.
