The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators along with the, Gang Unit, and the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrest DeQuavious Jamal Howard, age 18, Thursday morning just after 11:30a.m in east Macon. A Crime Stoppers tip was called in and law enforcement authorities located Howard at a residence in the 2100 block of Joseph Waller Drive. Howard was arrested without incident. Two females who were also at the residence were arrested for harboring Howard.

Howard was charged in connection with the homicide of 30 year old Michael Antwan Chapman on September 15, 2018, on Burke Street.

Howard was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex and booked on charges for Armed Robbery and Murder.  No bond has been set for Howard at this time.

Crystal Reese age 39 was charged with aiding/ hindering apprehension.

Makayla Bowden age 18 was charged with aiding/hindering apprehension, possession of schedule 2 drugs and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Public’s Assistance Requested in Locating Murder Suspect

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 18yr old Dequaviouse Jamal Howard who is wanted for questioning in connection, with the murder of 30yr old Michael Antwan Chapman. A photograph of Howard is attached.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Homicide in South Macon

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred on Burke Street, just after 7:20p.m. Saturday evening. Deputies responded to a report of a person shot. Upon arrival they found a black male lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the Navicent Health Center where he was later pronounced deceased. The victim was identified as 30 year- old, Michael Antwan Chapman. The suspect had already fled the scene before Deputies arrived. No one else was injured during the incident. There is no suspect information at this time.
