The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred at the Neighborhood Gas Station located at 3102 Napier Avenue, at 5:17 p.m.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a person down. As deputies arrived, they found 18-year-old Shamarian Chatfield, unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Chatfield was transported to Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance, where he was later pronounced deceased due to his injuries.
According to Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley, the next of kin has been notified. Investigators are still gathering information on what led up to the shooting.
