Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies arrested a Macon man for possession of a firearm by a felon. Just before 12:30 a.m., on June 9, 2019, deputies responded to an address in the 2100 block of Ferguson Street in regards to a dispute and a person with a warrant. Upon arrival, deputies spotted 39-year-old Freddie Leroy Slaughter Jr, of Macon. Deputies had been informed that Slaughter possibly had a warrant.

When deputies went to approach Slaughter he began to run to the residence. Deputies continually told him to stop. Deputies chased Slaughter into the house and he continued to try to resist and would not comply with verbal commands.

It was discovered that Slaughter had a Springfield pistol on his person. When deputies checked the pistol it came back as stolen in Bibb County in 2018. Slaughter it was determined was also a felon.

Slaughter was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Obstruction of Peace Officer, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Theft by Receiving Stolen Property. He was released on an $8,950.00 on June 11, 2019.
