A Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputy was traveling on Pansy Avenue near Montpelier Avenue just after 7:00pm, when they witnessed a suspicious black male running down Pansy Avenue trying to hide from them.
The Deputy lost sight of the suspect when he ran behind an abandoned house. While the suspect was running he kept holding on to his pants near his pocket. Deputies were able to locate the suspect a short time later. He was identified at 18 year-old Roy Herman Ford, of Macon. Deputies were checking Ford for weapons when they found a 9mm handgun in his pocket. It was discovered that Ford was a convicted felon. A picture of the gun is attached
Ford was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and is being held on $8,100.00 bond
